Get Your Business Questions Answered

gift

Could you use some advice about your business?

Do you have questions about starting your own business?

I have a great opportunity for you – best of all, it won’t cost you a dime!

One of the benefits YOAL Coaching Club members receive is access to a monthly question & answer web conference. Our first event will be taking place Friday, January 15 at 2 pm EST, 11 am PST, 7 pm GMT.

I’m going to open this web conference up to anyone who wants to attend – absolutely free!

There are no catches. You won’t be put on some mailing list. The only thing you’ll hear from me will be A) A confirmation email for your registration B) A reminder a couple of hours before the event and C) One email after with the replay information.

.

Here is How it Works:

.
  1. Register for the free web conference.
  2. Return here and post any questions you may have in the comments.
  3. A couple of hours before the call, you’ll receive an email reminder.
  4. A few minutes ahead of the call,  go to the event page. You can either listen in via the web or call in. We have 250 phone lines and up to 2000 people can listen online.
  5. If you want to interact with other attendees, there will also be live chat for up to 50 people.
  6. Can’t make it live? You’ll receive an email after the event with a link to listen to the replay.
.

The duration of the web conference will be anywhere between 60 and 120 minutes depending on the number of questions received.

.

What Type of Questions?

.

I’m really open for tackling any questions related to starting or growing an Internet-based business. Ask your most pressing business question below and I’ll do my best to answer it on the call!

Note: I will not answer questions related to various “flavor of the month” Internet opportunities or comment on specific individuals/gurus.

  • Thank you for sharing those links. They are pretty useful for me.
  • Hiya Sharon! *big hugz* I'm very much a noobie at this. I spent my whole career working for banks and large consultancies, and at 40 the life's not for me anymore. I was laid off a year ago and have spent my time since slowly building up a reputation and a small following (okay and playing video games too LOL), but now that I have a following, I'm not too sure how to actually sell to them.

I'm selling project monitoring services to project managers...and hooray my following is made mostly of project managers. Er...ok now what? LOL It might sound dumb but now that I have the audience I wanted, I'm nervous about pitching anything because I'm afraid to lose them.

What distinguishes social media from other kinds of marketing is that it is about building trust and creating conversations. You have some degree of trust with followers to get them to follow you right now - but that doesn't necessarily translate to them being willing/able to open up their wallet to you.

Move the free line a little further - move the dialog a but further along - to help build the trust. Get them to know YOU a bit better.

Years ago when I was getting started in establishing myself in email marketing, I frequently gave free webinars. I had a rotating schedule covering different topics that people could attend. It helped me grow very quickly. Doing something similar in your field may work. Alternately something like what I did today with the Q&A may be a possibility too. Good luck!
  • That's good advice. I'm guessing also there's going to come a tipping point where after x amount of free stuff, either there's enough followers or enough buzz that a certain ratio of followers would be receptive to an offer of some kind, mixed in with more free. Finding the tipping point will be a challenge I'm guessing.

It's kind of funny - I had missed this comment from you and ended up writing a post about tipping points. Yes, there are definite tipping points - and not just in social media but in business in general. Both internal (to the business owner) and external (in terms of sales growth/momentum etc).
  • Hi Sharon! : )

Thank you SO much for your support up to now. You truly are an inspiration!
I appreciate how you've been so generous with your time, mostly helping me out by answering my questions on Twitter.

I'm starting out in the business of ebook publishing.
I've put one ebook on smashwords.com, which is a distributor.
I have three other books which have already been written and are pending my approval.
All four are collections of short stories by Dick Bird, my father.
It may take a couple of months to read the remaining stories and make any required edits.

Do you have any advice for how I can go about gaining more distribution channels for my ebooks?
I also intend to have the books published in print.
Do you have advice to help me make that happen this year?

What I REALLY want to know is this: if were starting over from scratch today, what would you do to get started in business online?

I don't have any Internet business. This would be for noobies like me. :D

Great question Michael! I'll answer it on the call! Make sure to register to listen live or to get access to the playback.

Hi Sharon! I'm really enjoying what you are doing with this site. Thank you for opening this call up since it will give me a chance to see whether the coaching program may be worthwhile for me or not.

Here's my question. I have over two decades of experience as a financial planner. I work with clients to help them create budgets and investment plans. Over the past two years, I have been transitioning to doing this online. About 80% of my new business comes from online leads and we work primarily through Skype, telephone and email. My business is targeted to boomers who are getting close to retirement. Currently all of my income is hourly work. I'm really uncertain how I can better leverage my expertise and time. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks for your support Anna :) Most of the people taking the program are coaches, consultants or service professionals. I will definitely tackle your question on the web conference - it's a great one! Remember to register for the web conference and if you can't make it live, listen to the playback. :)
