Great metaphor Sharon!
More than ever I think you're right, 'snacking' has become very dominant in our relationship with others. I think perhaps this is a reflection of the world around us: once traditional (family and home), we've moved to a more fragmented understanding of the world around us. We are multitaskers, which is reflected in our thoughts and actions. More is better, which in some cases is true (think of influential life experiences), yet sometimes more is less and we under value the importance of the meaningful people we have in our lives.

Great post, but I'm conflicted in my answer Sharon.

Hello, this is my first ever visit to this wonderful blog. I came to know about this blog from Wong Ching Ya facebook profile. Very thoughtful article. Made me to think a bit. I have to say that it really is a big problem today. Yes, with money being everything today and life getting busier like anything, we hardly tend to take out our time for anything as good as family values and relationships. Even I have experienced the same. I too have been snacking in the past but that was never intentional. Infact, it was more situational. I won't do it knowingly..I know it. Great post !
